Our small group received ample personal instruction in the field and classroom with Rad. We learned little tricks from each other for making better imagery and enjoyed playing with new apps that increased our creativity that spurned belly laughs and giggles! Our shooting locations were varied and I can say that I’d like to return to this area to photograph again. Rad’s photo leadership, organization of the day’s schedule and ability to interject fun at every turn is greatly appreciated!

Fantastic trip. Accommodations were great, the food was wonderful and the people were friendly. Rad was extremely helpful and provided plenty of suggestions on composition, editing and apps. The local guides were knowledgeable and provided helpful information about the areas we visited. Isabella was exceptionally helpful. And, of course, the country side and towns were spectacular. I highly recommend this trip.

Rad Drew is a wonderful and experienced photo tour guide. He's knowledgeable, makes things simple, he's complimentary and supportive--constantly showing you what he just photographed or shooting what you just showed him! For the money, Rad is one of the best deals around.

I've done many workshops but exploring The Palouse with Rad was simply the best. Rad is such a wealth of knowledge and has a very relaxed and laid back way of conducting his workshops. As a result I came home with many wonderful captures. I truly hope I'll be able to attend another workshop with Rad again soon.

Rad Drew

Hi, I'm Rad Drew.

Photography has been a lifelong passion for me. I began as a photojournalist telling stories in black and white and have explored infrared since film days. I see the camera as a tool for creative personal expression, and I do not believe the gear is the most important part of photography.

For more than 20 years I have worked across photojournalism, landscape, fine art, and other forms of photography using both traditional and mobile cameras. My work has been exhibited around the world, and my writing has appeared in PSA Journal, PhotoPXL, Luminous Landscape, The App Whisperer, and through the Royal Photographic Society. I am also a frequent presenter for camera clubs, conferences, Out of Chicago, Madeline Island School of the Arts, the Garden Club of America, Jackie Kramer’s Phlorography groups, and more. I’ve led workshops throughout the USA as well as Cuba, Cape Cod, Molokai, France, Tuscany, and Calabria.

My teaching is practical, accessible, and grounded in a 30-year background designing instruction for adults. I want students to understand not only what to do, but why it matters—and how to make it their own.
